You know how it is with ice cream, or puppies, or friends? It's HARD to pick a favorite!

(Thank goodness, you don't really have to!)

What do I write?

That's how it is for me with kids' books and writing.  I love so many different kinds!

I enjoy writing all genres of children's literature, but I am most happy writing fiction for young readers. I love the complicated simplicity (I think I made that up) of picture book text - weaving a complete, engaging story out of so few words. Early Readers and Middle Grade chapter books allow me to play a bit more with words and story line, and as challenging as it is, I find tremendous satisfaction in creating rhyming poetry.
